The role

The Director of Business Development is the first business development hire and will be a highly visible leader within Biofidelity, working with biopharma partners and oncologists to establish new business relationships with biopharma companies and large community oncology practices.  This position reports into the Chief Commercial Officer.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the Business Development process in the area of pharma services for Biofidelity’s oncology business

  • Establish relationships with biopharma partners to initiate CDx programs

  • Lead the effort of working with largest community based oncology practices in the US to adopt the ASPYRE technology in their clinical practices

  • Lead proposal development, term sheet generation, and negotiations

  • Be the face of Biofidelity to external pharma partners, liaising with all levels of biopharma partners from biomarker groups to CEOs

  • Drive sales Biofidelity’s pharmaceutical services business; secure and retain business through professional, consultative, and proactive sales activities directed at key decision makers

  • Analyze potential opportunities and develop sales plans for each target community oncology and biopharma account; develop in-depth knowledge of the customer organization

  • Coordinate with Biofidelity’s scientific, operations and leadership team to present comprehensive proposals

  • Maintain high visibility within the customer organization; monitor customer satisfaction by regular communication with the customer

  • Handle follow-up related to the sale and drive completion of contractual documents

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

  • Proven track record of effectively driving large scale pharma partnering initiatives

  • Experience working with large oncology networks and driving adoption of new technologies

  • Attention to detail and ability to work simultaneously on multiple priorities

  • Adapt and be flexible to changing priorities

  • Effective negotiation skills

  • Willingness to travel as required

  • Passionate about oncology, genomics, and personalized medicine

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, developing presentations and financial models

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in business, life sciences or equivalent required, MBA or related advanced degree desired

  • 5+ years of in-depth commercial, business development, product management, diagnostic marketing, in the oncology space

  • Strong Oncology Pharma background required
